Closing the loop from DVIR defect to repair
A digital inspection matters when a safety defect reaches ownership, disposition, and repair evidence.
Replacing paper with a form does not solve the operational gap by itself. The inspection must connect a reported defect to a responsible owner and a documented next action.
The record should identify driver, vehicle, assignment, time, inspection type, checked components, and every defect while policy routes critical findings promptly.
Repair, deferral, verification, notes, and timestamps should remain linked to the original driver report.
Put the principle into operation
The practical implementation depends on fleet roles, selected hardware, data availability, current systems, operating regions, policy, and applicable requirements. Define who owns the exception, what evidence they need, which source is authoritative, and how completion is recorded before automating the workflow.
