An evidence-first ELD migration checklist

A clean switch protects driver access, assignments, historical logs, devices, and roadside continuity.

Changing providers is a data and operations migration, not just a hardware swap. Inventory the records, identities, devices, and operating procedures that have to remain coherent through cutover.

Reconcile active and inactive drivers, vehicles, device serials, terminals, time zones, exemptions, and credentials before activation.

Plan cutover around effective assignments, preserve required history, and rehearse roadside access before fleet-wide activation.

Put the principle into operation

The practical implementation depends on fleet roles, selected hardware, data availability, current systems, operating regions, policy, and applicable requirements. Define who owns the exception, what evidence they need, which source is authoritative, and how completion is recorded before automating the workflow.

Implementation

Apply the idea to your fleet operating record.

Bring the current workflow, data sources, owners, and failure modes. We will help map them to a practical service and implementation scope.
